Medical/Clinic

As to be expected the medical facilities at The Hub School are amongst the best. There will be a doctor and nurse on the premises at all times and a comprehensively equipped clinic and sick bay. We are also backed by the Aga Khan University Hospital.

At The Hub School we believe in Primary Health care. We all know that a fit person is less likely to be ill. As a consequence of all the sporting activities to be offered at The Hub School, our boys will be fit .The environment at The Hub School will be hygienic. The grounds are to be well kept and clean. Fresh food will be served daily and prepared following the strictest guidelines.

Personal, Health and Social Education (PHSE) will be delivered as part of the curriculum ensuring the boys’ understanding of their responsibility for their own well-being and fitness.

Finally each boy will be under the supervision of a Housemaster and a Matron, who will ensure each boy is clean, washed, properly groomed and has clean clothes and bedding.

 

Religious Provision

We are a non- denominational school however we recognise that many of our children at The Hub School will be Muslim. There is purpose built mosque and a full time Imam on site. For our non-muslim students there will be prayer rooms and appropriate religious guidance.

Parental consent will be required in writing to excuse them from prayers.

 

Learning Resource Centre

Today libraries are often referred to as Learning Resource Centre to reflect the integration of the library, computers and reprographic facilities.  At present the Library occupies three very large rooms on the first floor of our Laboratory. These are opposite our two fully equipped computer suites together with the computers in the learning resource centre all connected to the World Wide Web. This arrangement means students will have the choice from a huge selection of books of all genres and access to the computers, Audio visual materials and access to internet, links to archives in the library, in addition to the sixty computers in the computer suite.

Between two of the library rooms is the Reprographics Centre housing photocopiers, printers, laminators and all the equipment needed for the students to present their work portfolios.

 

Reading is encouraged and it is not unusual to see the boys reading in their spare time.

 

Dining Hall

The dining hall is a splendid feature of the school. Lunch and dinners will help the boys socialize and prepare them for formal occasions. Local and international food will be on the menu.

The kitchen is equipped to the highest standards for preparation and presentation of food by fully trained and experienced cooks. Fresh vegetables will be transported as routine with most from the Foundation Farms. Routine health and hygiene checks will be made by the doctor.

 

Security

The intense revolutionary concepts of command center, with placement of series of cameras with infrared beaming facilities to target and neutralize intercepting intruders with effective monitoring of the guards. The Hub School with a ten feet parameter wall and barbed wire will have uninterrupted surveillance. The entry will be permitted by modern technological security with identification by finger prints. Only the guards on mobile patrol outside the parameters will carry weapons. The Hub School will be a weapon free zone, no personal guards allowed in the premises.

 

Facilities

Your children will enjoy some of the finest facilities in the world. When completed The Hub School will have an Olympic sized swimming pool, Jacuzzi, a lake for boating, fishing and wind sports and will offer most equestrian sports, hockey cricket, archery  squash, golf and more. Indeed your sons will have facilities far better than most of the exclusive country clubs.

 

Outdoor pursuits

The huge area enclosed behind the perimeter walls of the campus provide a perfect setting for outdoor pursuits and scouting in a very safe environment. Many of the boys will be taking the Duke of Edinburgh award as well as community and social work

 

Camaraderie

Your son will belong to the HUB community and is likely to form stronger and more lasting friendships than in a day school. Furthermore the parents will meet with other like-minded parents and they are encouraged to take an active part in the life of the school and their sons’ interests.

 

School Campus

The Hub School campus is located in a tranquil setting on 70 acres of land on Hub Dam Road near Karachi. It is envisaged as a small independent community designed to foster an atmosphere of close student/faculty interaction in a pleasing environment.

The School and its supporting facilities comprise a complex of aesthetically designed buildings. The Academic blocks are right at the heart of the complex. The large court in front acts as the Podium, a hub of student activity and a place for congregation. It is designed to encourage greater student interaction and to foster the brotherhood concept. Other building clusters include the administration block, the principal's secretariat, pupils’ residences, dining hall, mosque, sports fields, staff housing and guest houses for visiting parents.
