WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT?

Philanthropy is not a modern invention. THS owes its very existence to the generosity of our donors. Many developments since then have been made possible by generous gifts from a host of contributors.

All of our upcoming plans focus on enhancing the education of current and future generations of young minds, ensuring they have the best possible academic, pastoral, social, cultural and sporting experiences which will prepare them for the rest of their lives.

Unlike some other Schools, we do not have large capital reserves or a big endowment that we can rely on to fund major new initiatives. Our core income streams such as school fees are sufficient to fund our running costs and the maintenance of existing buildings and facilities to a high standard, but we are not in a position to substantially increase our Bursary provision, or undertake major capital building programmes from fee income alone.

One option would be to raise fees but we do not wish to do that as it would put THS beyond the reach of more families at a time when one of our core objectives is to provide opportunities for students from diverse backgrounds.

Rather than imposing a compulsory additional levy on current parents, our approach is to offer past and present parents and other supporters the opportunity to make a voluntary contribution to THS’s ongoing development.
